Prismatic acrylic has a fine pyramid-textured finish on one face and a smooth finish on the other. The textured face breaks up and spreads the light passing through it, which is why this material is the standard choice for light fitting diffusers and illuminated panels where you want to hide the lamp and cut glare. Each sheet measures 297mm x 210mm and arrives with a protective liner on the smooth side.

A: Most fittings are assembled with the textured side facing the lamp and the smooth side facing the room, which keeps the visible surface easy to wipe clean. The sheet diffuses light either way round.

Q: Is prismatic acrylic UV resistant?
A: Yes. Acrylic has good UV stability and will not yellow in normal indoor use, and it is suitable for sheltered outdoor use.
