Clear Acrylic Sheet for Retail Signage & Displays 3mm to 12mm thick

This clear acrylic sheet, made from polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), is a lightweight and durable alternative to glass. Ideal for various applications, it offers excellent clarity and impact resistance.

Advantages and Disadvantages

Acrylic sheets are much safer than glass, lighter in weight, and resistant to staining and water. However, they are more expensive than glass and can melt when exposed to direct flames.

Performance Characteristics

Acrylic sheets do not shatter but break into large dull pieces. They can be curved and formed into various shapes, though they are softer and more easily scratched than glass, often requiring scratch-resistant coatings.

Common Applications

These sheets are used for basic machine guards, illuminated retail signboards, leaflet holders, food displays, baths, sinks, television screens, commercial aquariums, and viewing ports for submersibles.

Machining and Bonding

Acrylic can be easily machined using standard woodworking tools. It can be bonded with Tensol cement, superglue, or heat welding, creating strong, nearly invisible joints.

Food Safety and Chemical Resistance

Acrylic sheets are generally FDA approved for food contact, though special grades are available for compliance with European directives. They have poor resistance to chemicals like acetone and benzene.
