What this seal is
A clear tapered bottom seal for shower and bath screens fitted with 6–8mm glass. The rigid PVC U-channel — 10mm tall, with a 6mm mouth widening to 8mm at the base and internal gripping nibs — pushes straight onto the bottom edge of the glass with no adhesive, while the soft flexible fin beneath is tapered in height, running from 10mm down to 2mm along the 900mm length.
That taper is the whole point. Where a bath or shower tray is not quite level, or the glass is not perfectly parallel with it, a standard straight-fin seal leaves a widening gap at one end. Fit this seal with the deep end of the fin over the widest part of the gap and it closes the gap evenly along the whole edge.
Choosing the right taper
Our tapered seals come in a number of sizes to suit different gaps. As a rule of thumb, choose a fin around 2–5mm bigger than the gap you need to seal at each point — the flexible fin compresses for a tight, even seal. This profile tapers from 10mm to 2mm; please refer to the product diagrams for exact dimensions.

Why fit this seal
Seals uneven gaps properly. A straight seal on a sloping tray always leaks at the wide end. The tapered fin follows the gap, protecting flooring, skirting and plaster from escaping water.
No adhesive, no mess. The rigid channel grips 6–8mm glass on its own — it pushes straight on and can be removed without leaving residue.
Cut to fit at home. The 900mm length can be trimmed down to your screen width once you've measured exactly where the taper needs to sit. Remember that trimming removes part of the taper — measure carefully before you cut.
Fitting in three steps
1. Measure. Check your glass is 6–8mm thick, then measure the gap under the glass at both ends to confirm the 10mm-to-2mm taper covers it.
2. Choose. Pick the standard 900mm length to trim yourself, or use our custom cutting service and it arrives ready to fit.
3. Fit. Trim to length if needed, then push the U-channel squarely onto the bottom edge of the glass with the deep end of the fin over the widest part of the gap. No tools, no adhesive, no drying time. Never slide the seal along the glass — this can damage it.
