Tapered Shower Seal - 6-8mm Glass, Fin 10mm to 5mm, 900mm

What this seal is

A clear tapered seal for shower screens and bath screens with 6–8mm glass. The rigid PVC U-channel pushes straight onto the edge of the glass — no adhesive needed — and the soft flexible fin beneath is tapered in height, running from 10mm at one end down to 5mm at the other.

That taper is the whole point: it closes an uneven gap between the bottom of the glass and the top of the bath or tray — the kind of sloping gap a straight seal can never quite cover. It is designed for straight glass only, though we also offer a curving service for curved screens.

Which tapered size do I need?

Our tapered seals come in a number of different sizes to accommodate any size of gap — this one tapers from 10mm to 5mm. In most cases we recommend choosing a seal with a fin 2–5mm bigger than the gap you need to seal, so the flexible fin compresses for a tight finish. Why fit this seal

Seals a sloping gap properly. If your screen sits out of level with the bath or tray, a straight seal leaves a leak at one end — the tapered fin follows the slope and closes the gap along its whole run.

No adhesive, no mess. The U-channel grips 6–8mm glass on its own — it pushes straight on and can be removed without leaving residue on the glass.

Barely visible once fitted. The clear PVC blends with the glass, so the fix doesn’t change the look of your enclosure.

Fitting in three steps

1. Measure. Check your glass is 6–8mm thick, then measure the gap at both ends of the run so you know how it slopes.

2. Choose. Pick the tapered size whose fin is 2–5mm bigger than your gap — this profile runs from 10mm down to 5mm — and check it against the product diagrams.

3. Fit. Trim the 900mm length to size if needed, then push the channel onto the edge of the glass with the deeper end of the fin over the wider end of the gap.
