Tapered Shower Seal - 6-8mm Glass, Fin 20mm to 15mm, 900mm

What this seal is

A clear tapered seal for shower and bath screens with 6–8mm glass, made for the awkward situation where the gap under the glass is uneven. The rigid PVC U-section pushes onto the edge of the glass with no adhesive, while the soft flexible fin below is tapered in height from 20mm down to 15mm along its length — so it follows a sloping tray edge or an out-of-level bath instead of leaving a widening gap at one end.

Which tapered seal do I need?

Measure the gap at both ends of the run. In most cases we recommend a seal with a fin 2–5mm bigger than the gap you need to seal — the flexible fin compresses for a tighter finish. This version tapers from 20mm to 15mm; contact us to see our other tapered sizes.

Why fit this seal

Seals an uneven gap properly. A standard straight-finned seal fitted to a sloping gap either drags at one end or leaks at the other — the tapered fin closes the gap along its whole run.

No adhesive, no mess. The rigid U-channel grips 6–8mm glass on its own and slides straight onto the edge, with nothing to glue.

Protects your bathroom floor. Closing the gap under the screen stops water escaping onto flooring, skirting and plaster every time you shower.

Trim with care. Because the fin is tapered, cut from the end that keeps the taper matched to your gap — or ask about our custom cutting service.

Fitting in three steps

1. Measure. Check your glass is 6–8mm thick and measure the gap at both ends of the run to confirm the 20mm-to-15mm taper suits.

2. Choose. Confirm this size covers your gap — ideally with the fin 2–5mm bigger than the gap at each point.

3. Fit. Trim to length if needed, then push the U-channel onto the edge of the glass with the deeper end of the fin over the wider end of the gap.
