Tapered Shower Seal - 6-8mm Glass, Fin 20mm to 5mm, 900mm

What this seal is

A clear tapered seal for shower and bath screens with 6–8mm glass, made for the awkward situation standard seals can’t handle: an uneven gap between the bottom of the glass and the top of the bath or tray. The rigid PVC U-section pushes onto the edge of the glass and grips on its own — no adhesive needed.

Along the bottom of the seal runs a soft flexible fin that tapers in height from 20mm down to 5mm, so it follows a sloping or out-of-level gap and keeps the water inside the enclosure along the full width. Please refer to the product diagrams for the exact sizes. Designed for straight glass.

Which taper size do I need?

Measure the gap at both ends of the glass. Our tapered seals come in a number of different sizes to accommodate any size of gap, and in most cases we recommend choosing a fin 2–5mm bigger than the gap you need to seal — the flexible fin compresses for a tight, even contact.

Why fit this seal

Seals a sloping gap properly. When the tray or bath isn’t quite level, a straight-finned seal leaves a widening leak at one end. The tapered fin follows the slope and closes the gap along its whole length.

No adhesive, no mess. The U-section grips 6–8mm glass on its own — it slides straight onto the edge and comes off again without leaving residue.

Barely visible once fitted. The clear PVC blends into the glass, so the fix doesn’t draw the eye even where the fin is at its deepest.

Cut to fit at home. Trim the 900mm length down to your screen width, or use our custom cutting service and it arrives ready to fit.

Fitting in three steps

1. Measure. Check your glass is 6–8mm thick, then measure the gap at each end of the glass to confirm the taper you need.

2. Choose. Pick a tapered seal with a fin 2–5mm bigger than your gap — this profile covers gaps within its 20mm-to-5mm taper.

3. Fit. Trim to length if needed, then push the U-section onto the bottom edge of the glass with the deep end of the fin over the widest part of the gap.
