What this edge seal is

A black rubber U-channel edge seal (profile U003) that pushes over an exposed panel edge to grip, protect and finish it. The channel measures 4mm wide by 13mm high with a 1.5mm rubber wall, and its jaws open from 1mm at the top to 2mm at the bottom — so it grips edges from 1mm to 2mm thick.

It is supplied in 1 metre lengths. Need a longer run? Add more to your basket — consecutive metres are cut from the same reel wherever stock allows, so the joins line up.

It is a versatile trim: as well as general edge-sealing jobs it is well suited to boats and cars, covering raw panel edges so they are safer to handle and neater to look at.

Why fit this seal

Grips a range of edges. The tapered 1–2mm jaw means one profile suits several panel thicknesses, holding on firmly without adhesive.

Fitting in three steps

1. Measure. Check the edge you are covering is between 1mm and 2mm thick, and work out how many metres you need before ordering.

2. Check. Make sure the 4mm x 13mm outside profile suits the space around your edge.

3. Fit. Cut the seal to length with sharp scissors or a craft knife, then push the channel firmly over the edge, working along its full run.
