A lightweight, slip-resistant open-grid matting for wet and slippery areas. The open grid and etched surface deliver certified slip resistance and rapid drainage, making it an ideal choice for poolsides, changing rooms, shower blocks, bar flooring, commercial kitchens, boats and outdoor decking. Non-porous PVC with anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties protects bare feet in leisure centres and communal wet areas.
Made from a single tier of flexible PVC, it is an exceptionally lightweight floor mat — easy to carry, move and lift for cleaning. Soft underfoot and quick to hose down, it is a popular choice for clubs, restaurants and bars where staff stand for long shifts, spillages are frequent and breakages are likely.

CHOOSING A COLOUR
- Black — hides scuffs and general soiling; the usual choice for kitchens, bars and industrial walkways.
- Blue and Green — standard for pool surrounds, changing rooms and leisure wet-side areas, and the choice for sunlit outdoor runs.
- Red — high visibility for marking walkways and hazard routes indoors.
- White and Beige — lighter, cleaner look for spas, shower blocks and hospitality areas.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Before you start: remove loose items, litter and clothing fibres from the matting.
By hand: apply an alkaline cleaning fluid with a sprayer or mop, following the fluid manufacturer's instructions. Work the solution into surface dirt with a stiff deck brush, allow it to soak, then rinse with clean water.
By machine: spray on the alkaline solution, then run a cylindrical brush machine in the direction of the top ribs. Make cross passes to clean the etched pattern. To clean the underside, roll the matting over and repeat.
Steam cleaning: any steam cleaner is suitable. Best results at approximately 6894.8 kN/m² (1000 psi) nozzle pressure with water at 212°F, diluting the cleaning fluid as recommended by its manufacturer.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I cut it to size myself?
Yes. It cuts cleanly on site with a sharp knife and needs no special tools or adhesive. Allow for up to 2% reversion when cutting to a fixed length.
Does it need fixing down?
Not usually. It lies flat under its own weight and contours to uneven surfaces. In high-traffic or trolley routes you may wish to edge or fix it — see matting accessories, and tell us this mat is 6mm so we specify the right profile.
Is it safe for bare feet?
Yes — it carries DIN 51097 Classification C, the highest barefoot wet-area rating, and is anti-microbial and anti-fungal.
Will it survive outdoors?
Yes. It is UV resistant and rated from -23°C to +60°C. For sunlit areas we will recommend the best colour for the location.
Can I use it over a drainage channel?
Yes. The open grid is rated V10 for drainage, so water passes straight through to the floor below.
How many rolls do I need?
Divide your area in m² by 6.0 for the 0.6m width, or by 9.1 for the 0.91m width, then round up.
Is there a heavier barefoot version?
Yes — our ribbed barefoot matting is 10.5mm and 5.5 kg/m², with channelled underbars that drain four ways beneath the walking surface. Heavier to lift, but the more substantial choice for a permanent poolside or shower-block installation.
