Delrin Black Rod Polyoxymethylene Homopolymer for Engineering Applications 16mm to 80mm diameter

Delrin Black Rod is a high-performance polyoxymethylene homopolymer known for its excellent mechanical strength and low friction properties. Ideal for various engineering applications.

Material Properties

Delrin Black Rod is made from polyoxymethylene homopolymer, offering superior mechanical strength, stiffness, and hardness compared to other materials. It exhibits low thermal expansion and excellent dimensional stability, making it suitable for precision applications.

Performance Characteristics

This material performs exceptionally well under both tension and compression, with a service temperature range of -29º to 85º C, and can withstand intermittent temperatures up to 93.3º C. It has a low coefficient of friction and high wear resistance, which enhances its durability in various applications.

Applications and Uses

Delrin Black Rod is widely used in the automotive industry, food processing, construction, and electrical engineering. Common applications include mechanical gears, slide-ways, housing parts, and components for consumer electronics.

Machining and Fabrication

This rod is easy to machine using traditional methods such as turning and milling. It typically leaves minimal burrs and does not require soluble cutting lubricants, although their use is recommended for optimal results. Care should be taken to use light clamping forces due to its lower rigidity compared to metals.
