Delrin Natural Rod Polyoxymethylene for Engineering Applications 125mm to 200mm diameter

Delrin Natural Rod is a high-performance polyoxymethylene homopolymer known for its excellent load-bearing capabilities. Ideal for various engineering applications.

Material Properties

Delrin is a homo-polymer grade of acetal known for its superior mechanical strength, stiffness, and hardness. It exhibits lower thermal expansion rates compared to Acetal C and is easier to machine than nylon, making it a preferred choice for precision engineering.

Performance Characteristics

This material offers excellent load-bearing qualities in both tension and compression, with minimal moisture absorption. It performs well in temperatures ranging from -29º to 85º C, with intermittent exposure up to 93.3º C. Delrin features low friction, high wear resistance, and ease of fabrication.

Applications

Delrin Rod is widely used in various industries, including automotive, construction, and food processing. Common applications include mechanical gears, electrical insulators, automotive components, and medical devices. It is suitable for high-performance engineering components such as gear wheels and fasteners.

Machining and Bonding

Delrin is excellent for traditional machining methods like turning and milling, requiring sharp tools for optimal results. While it is challenging to bond, special surface treatments can enhance adhesion. It is not recommended for food storage due to its susceptibility to acidic foods.
