Grey PVC Rod for Chemical Processing Applications 6mm to 180mm diameter

This grey PVC rod is made from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride, offering excellent chemical resistance and durability. Ideal for various industrial applications.

Material Properties

The rod is crafted from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (U-PVC), which is known for its self-extinguishing properties, high mechanical strength, and stability. It operates effectively within a temperature range of 0°C to +60°C.

Applications

PVC rods are commonly utilized in corrosive fluid handling, valves, tanks, and water applications, as well as in air conditioning and ventilation systems.

Advantages and Disadvantages

PVC rods are durable, chemically resistant, and affordable, making them suitable for various engineering applications. However, they have limited heat stability and are not FDA approved for direct food contact.

Machining and Bonding

PVC rods can be machined to a polished finish and are easily bondable. High-frequency welding is possible, though mistakes in bonding are difficult to correct.
