Natural Nylon 6.6 Sheet for Food Compliance Applications 30mm to 80mm thick

Natural Nylon 6.6 Sheet is a high-strength, food-compliant material ideal for various engineering applications. It offers superior wear resistance and stiffness.

Material Properties

Natural Nylon 6.6, also known as Polyamide 66, is an extruded material that provides higher strength, stiffness, and wear resistance compared to Nylon 6. It can withstand operating temperatures from -30°C to +80°C, making it suitable for demanding environments.

Machining and Fabrication

This material is easier to machine and cut than Nylon 6, allowing for precise fabrication. The extrusion process used in its production ensures accurate thickness and surface finish, although care must be taken to machine equal amounts from both faces to avoid distortion.

Applications

Natural Nylon 6.6 is commonly used in the manufacturing of gears, nuts, valve seats, bushes, electrical insulators, screws, bearings, and gaskets. Its FDA approval makes it suitable for food production areas.

Advantages Over Nylon 6

Nylon 6.6 offers a higher operating temperature and improved hardness, making it preferable for low friction environments. Its enhanced mechanical properties provide a safety margin for applications that require durability.
