Polypropylene Sheet Chemical Resistant Cut to Size

Polypropylene Sheet | PP Plastic Sheet | Chemical Resistant | Cut to Size

Polypropylene (PP) sheet is one of the UK's most versatile and cost-effective engineering plastics, widely trusted across chemical processing, food manufacturing, water treatment, and industrial fabrication. Available in natural (cream) colour, our polypropylene sheet offers outstanding chemical resistance, low weight, and excellent weldability — making it the material of choice for demanding applications where metals corrode and other plastics fall short.

Key Properties

Why Choose Polypropylene Sheet?

• Excellent chemical resistance — resists acids, alkalis, sulphuric acid, and aggressive cleaning agents
• Food compliant — safe for food processing, preparation surfaces and handling equipment
• Lightweight — SG 0.91, the only common engineering plastic that floats
• Highly weldable — hot gas and extrusion welding for fabricated tanks and vessels
• Low cost — one of the most affordable engineering plastics available
• High impact resistance — ideal as a backing board for punching and gasket cutting
• Corrosion resistant — superior to metals in wet and chemical environments
• Electrically insulating — non-conductive, suitable for electrical isolation applications

Typical Applications

• Chemical storage tanks and bunds
• Water treatment equipment and pipe systems
• Food processing surfaces and chopping boards
• Medical and laboratory equipment
• Industrial ducting and containment
• Prosthetic components and orthotics
• Fabricated guards, covers and enclosures
• Gasket punching backing boards

Thickness Tolerances

Note: Polypropylene sheet can be cut, drilled, routed and machined with conventional equipment. Take care to avoid excess heat generation during machining due to the 130°C melting point. Bonding is challenging — most fabricators use plastic welding techniques.
