Virgin PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) has the lowest coefficient of friction of any solid, is inert to almost all chemicals and works continuously from -200°C to +260°C. In these thicker gauges it is used for flange gaskets, valve seats, slide bearings, insulators and machined components in chemical, pharmaceutical and food processing plant.

A: Not with ordinary adhesives. PTFE needs a chemically etched surface before bonding, so mechanical fixing is normally used.
