Key Features and Benefits

• Easy to machine, drill and saw using standard workshop tools, helping to reduce fabrication time and tooling costs.
• Corrosion-resistant alternative to metal for components exposed to moisture, many chemicals and cleaning agents.
• Lightweight compared with metal bar, improving handling safety and reducing load on assemblies and equipment.
• Consistent, predictable properties across the rod length for reliable performance in repeat production.
• Grey colour helps to hide marks and wear in busy industrial, workshop or plant-room settings.
• Multiple diameter and length options help minimise waste material and allow closer matching to finished part dimensions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can these grey PVC rods be machined with standard workshop tools?

Yes, the rods can be cut, drilled, turned and milled using standard metalworking or woodworking tools with appropriate speeds and feeds. Sharp tools and correct clamping are recommended to achieve a clean finish.

Are the PVC rods suitable for outdoor use?

The rods are primarily intended for indoor use. While PVC has good weathering resistance, prolonged exposure to strong sunlight and outdoor conditions may affect appearance and long-term performance, so additional protection or an alternative material may be advisable for permanent outdoor installations.

Can the rods be glued or bonded to other materials?

Yes, PVC rods can be bonded using suitable PVC or multi-purpose plastic adhesives, provided the surfaces are clean, dry and properly prepared. Always follow the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions and carry out a small test where critical performance is required.
