Frequently Asked Questions

Can this PVC rod be machined using standard workshop tools?

Yes, the rigid PVC rod can be machined using conventional lathes, mills, saws and drills. Sharp tools, appropriate speeds and secure workholding are recommended to achieve a clean finish and maintain tolerances.

Is the grey PVC rod suitable for outdoor use?

The rod offers good resistance to moisture and many environmental factors, but prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause surface discolouration over time. For long-term outdoor applications, additional UV protection or housing is advisable.

How do I choose the right diameter and length for my application?

Select a diameter that comfortably exceeds the largest finished dimension of your part, allowing for machining allowances, and choose the nearest standard length (250mm, 500mm, 1000mm or 2000mm) that provides enough material for your components with minimal waste.
