Shower Screen Seal - 4-6mm Glass, Plain U-Channel Trim

What this seal is

A clear U-channel seal for shower and bath screens with 4–6mm glass. The rigid PVC U-section pushes onto the edge of the glass and grips comfortably on its own — no adhesive needed. This profile has no fin: its purpose is to frame and protect the edge of the glass rather than seal a gap.

It’s most often found along the bottom of fixed-panel screens, protecting the glass from the tray or floor, and can also be used vertically on the upright of the glass to protect it from the tiles or wall. To make the joint watertight, apply silicone sealant along the outside. Designed for straight glass.

Why fit this seal

Protects the glass edge. Sitting between the glass and the tray, floor, tiles or wall, the U-channel cushions the panel and stops the vulnerable bottom edge grinding against hard surfaces.

Tidies up a fixed panel. A fresh, clear channel replaces a discoloured or broken original and gives the base of a fixed screen a clean, finished look — barely visible once fitted.

No adhesive to fit. The channel grips 4–6mm glass on its own; you only need silicone on the outside afterwards if the joint must be watertight.

Cut to fit at home. With five lengths up to 2500mm, order the next size up and trim it down — or use our custom cutting service and it arrives ready to fit.

Fitting in three steps

1. Measure. Check your glass is 4–6mm thick and measure the edge of the panel you’re framing.

2. Choose. Pick the nearest length at or above your measurement — 800mm, 900mm, 1400mm, 2000mm or 2500mm.

3. Fit. Trim to length if needed, push the U-section onto the edge of the glass, then run silicone sealant along the outside if you need the joint watertight.
