Tapered Shower Seal - 4-6mm Glass, Fin 25mm to 10mm, 900mm

What this seal is

A clear tapered seal for shower and bath screens with 4–6mm glass, made for the awkward situation a standard seal cannot fix: an uneven gap between the bottom of the glass and the top of the bath or tray. The rigid PVC U-channel — 10mm tall, with a 4mm mouth widening to 6mm at the base and internal gripping nibs — pushes onto glass measuring 4mm, 5mm or 6mm thick with no adhesive, and the soft flexible fin below it is tapered in height, from 25mm at one end down to 10mm at the other, so it follows a gap that widens along its length.

Choose the right taper

Measure the gap at both ends of the glass. In most cases we recommend a seal with a fin 2–5mm bigger than the gap you need to seal, so the flexible fin compresses onto the surface for a watertight finish. If this 25mm-to-10mm taper does not match your measurements, we stock other sizes of tapered seal — just ask.

Why fit this seal

Seals sloping and uneven gaps. Where a bath or tray sits out of level, a standard straight fin leaves a widening leak at one end. The tapered fin follows the slope and keeps contact along the whole edge.

No adhesive, no mess. The rigid U-section grips 4–6mm glass on its own — it pushes straight on and comes off again without leaving residue.

Flexible fin, tight seal. The soft fin compresses against the bath or tray, which is why a fin slightly bigger than the gap gives the most watertight result.

Cut to fit at home. The 900mm length trims down easily, or add our custom cutting service and it arrives ready to fit. Remember that trimming removes part of the taper — measure carefully before you cut.

Fitting in three steps

1. Measure. Check your glass is 4–6mm thick, then measure the gap at both ends of the glass to see how it tapers.

2. Choose. Pick the tapered seal whose fin is 2–5mm bigger than your gap at each end — this 900mm seal tapers from 25mm to 10mm.

3. Fit. Trim to length if needed, then push the U-channel squarely onto the bottom edge of the glass with the deeper end of the fin over the wider end of the gap. No tools, no adhesive, no drying time. Never slide the seal along the glass — this can damage it.
