Tapered Shower Seal - 6-8mm Glass, Fin 15mm to 10mm, 900mm

What this seal is

A clear tapered seal for shower and bath screens with 6–8mm glass. The high-quality rigid PVC U-section — about 10mm tall, with a 6mm mouth widening to an 8mm base — pushes onto the bottom edge of the glass and grips comfortably with no need for any additional adhesive, while the soft flexible fin below is tapered in height from 15mm to 10mm along the 900mm length.

That taper is the point: where the gap between the bottom of the glass and the top of the bath or tray isn't even — wider at one end than the other — a standard straight-finned seal either drags or leaves a gap. This one follows the slope and seals the lot.

Which tapered size do I need?

Measure the gap at both ends of the glass and check the taper against the product diagrams. Our tapered seals come in a number of different sizes to accommodate any size gap — in most cases we recommend a fin between 2–5mm bigger than the gap you need to seal, so the flexible fin compresses for a tight fit.

Why fit this seal

Seals an uneven gap properly. When the tray or bath runs out of level, a parallel seal can't touch both ends at once. The tapered fin keeps contact along the whole edge, so water stays in and your floor stays dry.

No adhesive, no mess. The U-section grips 6–8mm glass on its own — it pushes straight on and can be removed without leaving residue on the glass.

Barely visible once fitted. The clear PVC blends into the glass, so the fix doesn't announce itself.

Cut to fit at home. The 900mm length trims down easily for a neat edge-to-edge fit, or use our custom cutting service and it arrives ready to fit.

Fitting in three steps

1. Measure. Check your glass is 6–8mm thick, then measure the gap at each end of the glass to confirm the taper — aim for a fin 2–5mm bigger than the gap.

2. Choose. Check the 15mm-to-10mm taper suits your measurements using the product diagrams; if not, see our other tapered sizes. Remember that cutting the seal down shortens the taper range.

3. Fit. Trim to length if needed, then push the U-section onto the bottom edge of the glass from one end and work your way along, with the deep 15mm end of the fin over the widest part of the gap. Never slide the seal along the glass — this can damage it.
