Black Rubber U-Channel Edge Seal - 6mm x 8mm, Grips 1.5-3mm Edges - 1 Metre (U002)

What this edge seal is

A black rubber U-channel edge seal (profile U002) that pushes over an exposed panel edge to grip, protect and finish it. The channel measures 6mm wide by 8mm high with a 1.5mm rubber wall, and its jaws open from 1.5mm at the top to 3mm at the bottom — so it grips edges from 1.5mm to 3mm thick.

It is supplied in 1 metre lengths. Need a longer run? Add more to your basket — consecutive metres are cut from the same reel wherever stock allows, so the joins line up.

It is a versatile trim: as well as general edge-sealing jobs it is well suited to boats and cars, covering raw panel edges so they are safer to handle and neater to look at.

Specification

Why fit this seal

Grips a range of edges. The tapered 1.5–3mm jaw means one profile suits several panel thicknesses, holding on firmly without adhesive.

Protects and finishes. A rubber U-channel covers sharp or rough edges, giving a clean black trim line on boats, cars and general projects.

Simple to fit. It pushes straight over the edge by hand — no tools, no fixings.

Fitting in three steps

1. Measure. Check the edge you are covering is between 1.5mm and 3mm thick, and work out how many metres you need before ordering.

2. Check. Make sure the 6mm x 8mm outside profile suits the space around your edge.

3. Fit. Cut the seal to length with sharp scissors or a craft knife, then push the channel firmly over the edge, working along its full run.
