Description
A pedestrian broadcast salt spreader for treating car parks, service yards, footpaths and estate roads far faster than a shovel and scoop. The 57 litre hopper feeds a spinner disc that throws salt in an even band from 1.5m up to 3.6m wide, with a lever at the handle to open, close and meter the flow as you walk.
Why grounds teams use one
- One pass covers up to 3.6m, so a car park is treated in a fraction of the time.
- Lever control lets the operator shut off over grass, gullies and planting.
- Even spread rate means less salt used than hand scattering for the same cover.
- Pneumatic wheels roll over broken tarmac, gravel and kerb transitions.
- The high-visibility orange hopper and reflective strips keep the operator seen at dawn and dusk.
Where it is used
- Retail and office car parks, service yards and loading areas
- School and hospital footpaths, campus routes and estate roads
- Industrial estates, haulage depots and distribution centres
- Large private driveways and shared access roads
Construction
A moulded polyethylene hopper sits on a powder-coated tubular steel frame carried on two large pneumatic tyres. Beneath the hopper a spinner disc broadcasts the salt; an agitator above the outlet keeps damp salt moving instead of bridging. A mesh screen in the hopper mouth catches lumps before they reach the outlet, and a fitted rain cover keeps the load dry between passes.

Installation
Partial assembly is required: the handle and wheels fit to the frame with the supplied fixings before first use. Check tyre pressures, then set the flow lever to a low opening and walk a test strip to calibrate the rate for the salt grade being used.
Maintenance
Rinse the hopper, spinner and agitator with clean water after every session and let the machine dry β salt left on the mechanism is what shortens its life. Keep the wheels inflated and put a little grease on the drive and pivot points at the start of the season.
Suitability and limitations
Designed for dry, free-flowing brown rock salt and white de-icing salt, and equally usable for seed, sand and granular fertiliser. Damp or heavily caked salt will clog the outlet regardless of the agitator. It is a pedestrian machine and is not intended to be towed behind a vehicle.
Compliance
Supplied with a 1 year warranty against manufacturing defects. Reflective strips on the hopper aid visibility in low light.
Ordering
Supplied as one spreader with rain cover and mesh screen, partly assembled. Salt is not included.
