Oil-Based Barn & Shed Paint – Exterior Wood & Metal Gloss

Oil-based gloss coating for refurbishing prepared timber and metal barns, sheds and outbuildings. Its mixed-substrate suitability makes it practical for doors, frames, cladding and other sound components where a consistent exterior gloss finish is required.

Surface assessment and preparation

Apply only to sound, clean and dry surfaces. Remove corrosion, damp, loose material and poorly bonded coatings. Bare or exposed metal and absorbent timber may require a compatible primer appropriate to the substrate and service conditions. Confirm compatibility with previous coatings on a small test area before full application.

Application guidance

Mix thoroughly and apply in controlled, even coats by brush, roller or suitable spray equipment. White spirit may be used for thinning only where the current product instructions permit it. Avoid cold or damp application conditions: temperature, humidity, ventilation and coat thickness will affect drying and recoating.

Coverage and colour planning

Approximately 8 m² per litre is a practical single-coat guide; textured or porous timber, complex profiles and application losses can reduce achieved coverage. Choose from the listed colour and pack-size combinations. For a custom colour, confirm the required RAL, British Standard or other recognised reference before ordering. Screen colours are illustrative and not an exact dry-film match.

Storage and safety

Store away from naked flames and secure the lid firmly between uses to reduce skinning. Follow the current product label and safety information for ventilation, personal protection, drying and disposal.
