A safe route across a roof, without touching the membrane — loose laid, lifted for inspection, and still working years on.
Maintenance traffic is what damages flat roofs. Every visit to a plant unit, a solar array or an air-handling unit puts boots, ladders and toolboxes onto a single-ply membrane that was never meant to be walked on. This is the walkway that goes down first: an open-lattice PVC runner, 14mm high, laid loose along the access route so people walk on the matting and not the roof.
It is a two-layer welded moulding — cross-ribbed top bars with a diamond-cut tread, sitting on channelled underbars — so water runs away beneath it rather than sitting on it, and the roof beneath keeps draining normally too. Rated DIN 51130 R10 with V10 drainage, stable loose laid to 60mph, and made in four colours including black. Choose the colour and a 0.6m, 0.91m or 1.22m wide 10m roll above. LOOSE LAY, NO FIXINGS
Nothing penetrates the membrane. Roll it out along the route, cut to length on site, and lift or roll it back for inspection, recoating or re-roofing. The roofing guarantee is undisturbed.
STAYS PUT IN WIND
Stays in position loose laid in winds to 60mph (96 km/h). In flat-platform laboratory testing it held to 94mph.

Cross-directional top ribs with a diamond-cut tread, DIN 51130 R10, with V10 drainage so rain never sits on the walking surface.

Rule of thumb: for a plant room, a covered route or a sheltered roof, this standard grade is enough and comes in black. For an exposed roof you want still doing its job in ten years, take the heavy-duty grade.
WHICH ROOF IS IT FOR?

COLOURS
Four stock colours, the same mat and the same price in each. Use the colour selector above to see each one in place.
- Light grey — the default. Sits quietly against grey and white membranes and hides rooftop soiling between cleans.
- Yellow — the usual choice on a roof. Reads as a marked route from a distance and in poor light, so contractors who do not know the roof follow it.
- White — for reflective cool-roof membranes where the walkway should not read as a dark stripe from above.
- Black — disappears against a dark membrane where the route does not need marking, and hides soiling best of all. Standard grade only.
Other colours are produced to order for larger projects — ask with the quantity and we will confirm lead time.
JOINING, EDGING & ANCILLARIES
Everything on one page — matting accessories: ramp edging, snap track, connector clips, floor hooks and cold weld paste. This mat is 14mm, so take the 14mm snap track and the 14mm x 60mm ramp edging.

INSTALLATION
- Follow the route people actually take — hatch to plant, not wall to wall. A 0.91m run along the true desire line beats a wide mat in the wrong place.
- Sweep first. Clear grit, loose fixings and debris from the route before unrolling.
- Lay it loose. Unroll and let it relax flat — it contours to the roof falls and over upstands. Nothing is fixed, screwed or bonded, so the waterproof layer stays intact.
- Cut on site. A sharp knife through the bars. Cut slightly loose against an upstand to allow for reversion.
- Keep outlets clear. The lattice drains through, but never bury a rainwater outlet under a joint — break the run around it.
- Butt, do not overlap. Fit clips or snap track where a section must stay joined.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Routine: hose it in place, or roll it up and jet-wash both the matting and the surface underneath. Non-porous PVC — nothing soaks in.
Annual: walk the route with the roof inspection, clear leaf litter from under the run so the drainage keeps working, and re-lay any section moved by contractors.
After works: lift the mat where trades have been working, sweep out screws and swarf, and re-lay. The point of the mat is what it keeps off the membrane; that only leaves the roof when someone lifts it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will it damage my roof membrane?
No — protecting it is the point. It is a flexible one-piece moulding laid loose, with no fixings and nothing sharp, and it spreads foot traffic that would otherwise land directly on the membrane. On TPO or EPDM membranes use the TPO version.
Will it blow off?
It is stable loose laid in winds up to 60mph and held to 94mph on a flat platform in laboratory testing. For very exposed high-level roofs, tell us the site and we will advise on layout, clips or ballasting, or take the heavy-duty grade with its 125mph rating.
Standard or heavy-duty?
Internally, under cover or on a sheltered roof, this standard grade is fine and comes in black as well. Outdoors and exposed, take the heavy-duty grade for its four-way drainage, R11 tread and better UV weatherability.
Which colour for a roof?
Yellow, almost always. It marks the route clearly against a dark membrane and stays visible in poor light. Light grey suits a visible roof where appearance matters, white sits quietly on a reflective cool-roof membrane, and black disappears against a dark membrane where the route does not need marking.
Can I use it indoors in a wet plant room?
Yes — that is one of its best uses. R10, free draining, and it lifts for cleaning. Edge it with 14mm ramp edging where it is crossed on foot.
Is it safe when wet, icy or snowy?
Rain drains straight through the open lattice and the diamond-cut top bars give a firm footing. It is designed to function down to -23°C. Snow and ice should be cleared from any roof walkway before use.
How do I cut it?
A sharp utility knife through the bars. Cut slightly loose against an upstand to allow for up to 2% reversion, or ask us to cut lengths before dispatch.

Yes. The data sheet is in the Downloads section above; Revit and IFC objects are sent on request.
Do you sell other sizes or colours?
The three roll widths and four colours above are stocked. Other colours are made to order for larger projects, and we can supply cut lengths.
